Design for evidence retrieval by humans and systems
Useful evidence pages state the answer and scope early, break compound assertions into inspectable claims, define terms, expose methods and dates, use tables for comparable values, and preserve limitations and change history. These practices improve human verification and can support machine parsing, but they are not a guaranteed ranking recipe. Structured data, headings, metadata, and semantic markup must remain consistent with visible factual content rather than creating a second, more promotional claim layer.
Controlled intervention preserves meaning
A test changes one structural or evidentiary factor while locking the factual claims, entity identity, publication state, and control/treatment timing. The intervention card states the hypothesized pipeline stage, expected direction, confounds, validation tests, and rollback. Accessibility, validity, and factual equivalence are release conditions, not secondary polish. If multiple changes are necessary, a factorial or sequential design must acknowledge the new estimand.

ReconstructionEvidence-page anatomy—not a ranking recipe
Figure design. An editorial page reconstruction labels answer, scope, claim blocks, primary evidence, method, limitations, metadata, and revision history. Evidence architecture supports inspection; it is not a ranking recipe.Long description
A single-column evidence page is annotated with content roles. Every label explains a verification function; a prominent note states that the reconstruction does not promise improved ranking or citation.

One action, one feedback state
Action
Compare control and treatment pages and identify the single changed factor.
Feedback
Feedback names preserved facts, accidental co-interventions, accessibility regressions, and the hypothesized stage.
Accessible alternative
A line-by-line diff and equivalence checklist provide the same comparison.
